Whenever I try to hail planets the game will slow for a few moments and then crash. Whenever I try to begin ship combat the game crashes almost immediately. Also the main page shows images which I can only assume are meant to be ambient images or backgrounds, but don't show up. I can understand that some things just don't work yet, but I feel the combat and hail mechanics are fairly important bugs or perhaps my install is just funny, but I don't know why it would be.
